First-of-its-Kind Study Provides Real-World Evidence on Daily Use of Lustriva and Consumer Self-Confidence
Saddle Brook, NJ — Everwell Health, an industry-leading developer and marketer of proven, one-of-a-kind functional wellness ingredients, announced new findings from a recently completed open-label study on its beauty-from-within ingredient, Lustriva®. For the first time, the study evaluated Lustriva’s real-world impact, not only on hair and skin appearance, but also on measures of consumers’ self-confidence.

In the study, 103 participants (90 female, 13 male) with medically validated mild to moderate hair thinning tracked changes in the appearance of their hair and skin over 12 weeks while consuming Lustriva daily. Outcomes were measured using questionnaires at weeks 4, 8, and 12, including the validated Hair Loss Quality of Life survey.
Over the course of the 12-week study, participants reported consistent improvements in several factors of hair appearance, including:
- 70% reported reduced hair shedding
- 57% reported reduced hair thinning
- 48% reported an increase in new hair growth
The largest changes over the course of study from week 4 to week 12 included the reported reduction of hair thinning, shinier hair, and hair appearing healthier. Similar visible improvements were noted by participants related to their skin appearance after 12 weeks, including:
- 50% reported healthier-looking, smoother-feeling skin
- 40% reported brighter-looking skin
- 34% reported noticeable improvements in visible lines and wrinkles
The Hair Loss Quality of Life survey assessed the impact on daily quality of life related to hair appearance. At the beginning of the study, just 17% stated their hair had no impact on their quality of life, reflecting a large majority negatively affected by their hair’s appearance. Notably, at the end of the study, this figure increased to 57% reporting their hair having no effect on their quality of life. “This threefold increase reflects Lustriva’s ability to help reduce the negative impact of hair concerns on daily life. Importantly, participants’ self-confidence grew measurably over the duration of the study, with nearly 60% stating they felt more confident at the end of the 12 weeks—supporting the changes participants experienced were more than just cosmetic,” said Catherine Kwik-Uribe, Chief Science Officer for Everwell Health.
The study was conducted with KGL Skin Study Center in Broomall, PA, an independent clinical research facility specializing in the efficacy of hair and skin products. “What stands out to me are the results consumers themselves reported in this study, including a reduction in hair thinning, an increase in new hair growth, and improved satisfaction with the appearance of both hair and skin. These real-world data directly align with, and further add credibility to, the existing body of clinical evidence supporting Lustriva,” commented Dr. Omer Ibrahim, Board-Certified Dermatologist and Medical Director of KGL Skin Study Center. “Over the course of 12 weeks, consumers noticed improvements in nearly all self-reported hair and skin outcomes. Even more compelling are the results from the Hair Loss Quality of Life survey, which examines the effect hair loss has on daily life and confidence. These data show that Lustriva had a meaningful impact on increasing the proportion of those who said their hair no longer had a negative effect on their daily quality of life. For consumers who continue taking Lustriva long term, I would expect continued improvement in results, self-confidence, and overall satisfaction with their appearance,” noted Dr. Ibrahim.
Growing awareness of the link between internal health and external appearance is fueling demand for beauty-from-within supplements and reshaping the hair and skin health markets. FMCG Gurus reports the top reasons consumers are interested in addressing hair and skin issues are nearly equally split between improving self-confidence, maximizing appearance, and reducing the signs of aging—reinforcing the relationship between one’s outer appearance and internal confidence. “As consumers increasingly embrace a more holistic approach to beauty, they prioritize products and ingredients backed by science. Today’s consumers want benefits they can see and feel. This study demonstrated meaningful, consumer-perceived benefits and further strengthens Lustriva’s scientific foundation as an effective ingredient for promoting existing hair growth and healthier-looking skin,” added Kwik-Uribe.
Lustriva stands out as a leading beauty-from-within ingredient. Versatile, safe, and effective, Lustriva can be easily incorporated into a wide range of product types so brands can deliver the unique benefits and help consumers feel beautiful inside and out.
